ปอดอักเสบทำให้กระบวนการแลกเปลี่ยนออกซิเจนทำงานได้ไม่ดี ส่งผลต่อระบบทางเดินหายใจ ทำให้หายใจอึดอัด หายใจลำบาก มีระดับความรุนแรงตั้งแต่รุนแรงน้อยไปจนถึงรุนแรงมากถึงขั้นเสียชีวิต เพราะฉะนั้นหากมีอาการผิดปกติควรรีบเข้าพบแพทย์เพื่อทำการตรวจเช็กและรักษาตามขั้นตอน จะช่วยบรรเทาอาการให้หายได้ในเร็ววัน
รู้จักปอดอักเสบ
โรคปอดอักเสบหรือโรคปอดบวมเป็นการอักเสบของเนื้อปอดและหลอดลม โดยเกิดขึ้นได้จาก 3 สาเหตุหลักคือ
1) การติดเชื้อ ได้แก่
เชื้อแบคทีเรีย ได้แก่ เชื้อนิวโมค็อกคัส (Pneumococcus)
เชื้อไวรัส ได้แก่ ไข้หวัดใหญ่ เชื้อไวรัสซาร์ส (SARS Virus)
อื่น ๆ ได้แก่ เชื้อรา พยาธิ ฯลฯ
2) การไม่ติดเชื้อ ได้แก่
สำลักเศษอาหารเข้าไปในปอด
หายใจเอาควัน ฝุ่น เข้าไปในร่างกายในปริมาณมาก
3) การแพ้ภูมิตัวเอง ภูมิต้านทานต่ำ ได้แก่
ผู้ป่วยโรคเอสแอลอี (SLE)
ทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด ทารกแฝด เด็กขาดสารอาหาร
ผู้สูงอายุ
ผู้ป่วยพิษสุราเรื้อรัง
ผู้ป่วยเอดส์
ผู้ป่วยเบาหวาน
ผู้ที่กินยาสเตียรอยด์นาน ๆ
ฯลฯ
ในบางกรณีอาจเกิดจากโรคแทรกซ้อนของไข้หวัด ไข้หวัดใหญ่ ทอนซิลอักเสบ หัด อีสุกอีใส ไอกรน เป็นต้น
อาการต้องสังเกต
อาการปอดอักเสบสามารถสังเกตได้ดังนี้
ไอ
มีเสมหะ
มีไข้สูง อาจตัวร้อนตลอดเวลา หนาวสั่นมาก
หายใจลำบาก หายใจหอบเร็ว
อาจเจ็บแปล๊บหน้าอกเวลาหายใจเข้า
อาจไอแรงร้าวไปที่หัวไหล่หรือสีข้าง
ตรวจวินิจฉัยปอดอักเสบ
การตรวจวินิจฉัยโรคปอดอักเสบ แพทย์จะวินิจฉัยจากอาการของผู้ป่วยเป็นหลัก โดยจะใช้เครื่องตรวจฟังเสียงปอด หลังจากนั้นหากต้องทำการตรวจพิเศษ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเอกซเรย์ปอด ตรวจเลือด ตรวจเสมหะ ตรวจเสมหะ RP33 (Respiratory Pathogen Panel 33) เป็นต้น ขึ้นอยู่กับอาการและความรุนแรงของผู้ป่วยเป็นสำคัญ
รักษาปอดอักเสบ
การรักษาโรคปอดอักเสบแพทย์จะทำการพิจารณารักษาตามอาการและสาเหตุเป็นหลัก หากเป็นปอดอักเสบที่เกิดจากการติดเชื้อ แพทย์จะให้รับประทานยาฆ่าเชื้อตามชนิดของเชื้อที่พบและนัดติดตามอาการเป็นระยะ หากอาการไม่ดีขึ้นจำเป็นจะต้องตรวจหาสาเหตุอื่นเพิ่มเติมทางห้องปฏิบัติการ
นอกจากนี้หากเป็นผู้ป่วยในกลุ่มเสี่ยง ได้แก่ อายุมากกว่า 65 ปี มีโรคประจำตัวเรื้อรัง เหนื่อยหอบรุนแรง เจ็บหน้าอก และรับประทานอาหารลำบากอาจต้องอยู่โรงพยาบาลเพื่อเฝ้าดูอาการอย่างใกล้ชิด ขึ้นอยู่กับการวินิจฉัยของแพทย์เป็นสำคัญ
ป้องกันปอดอักเสบ
การรักษาสุขภาพให้แข็งแรงอยู่เสมอช่วยให้ห่างไกลจากโรคปอดอักเสบ นอกจากนี้การฉีดวัคซีนป้องกันโรคปอดอักเสบคืออีกหนึ่งทางเลือกของการป้องกัน แต่จำเป็นจะต้องพบแพทย์เพื่อตรวจพิจารณาก่อนเข้ารับการฉีดวัคซีนป้องกันปอดอักเสบ
ปอดอักเสบเป็นโรคที่ไม่ควรละเลย เพราะการตรวจพบในระยะแรกเริ่มของโรคและทำการรักษาอย่างถูกต้อง ไม่เพียงช่วยบรรเทาอาการให้ดีขึ้น แต่ยังทำให้หายขาดได้โดยเร็ว
